CHASING VINTAGE PROUDLY USES

We are CVG, a small two man team based in central Ohio that spends its days designing and crafting fine instruments from scratch, by hand, using techniques found on the vintage instruments we all know and love. We are not a large scale production shop with cnc's turning out thousands of instruments. Since we make our guitars by hand we have a unique ability to build to the individual artist's needs on a personal level. We offer several models, and plenty of options to give you, the artist, the style and functionality you need. By building our instruments in this fashion we're able to offer excellent value for our artists' dollar.

Our Luthier Chase Gullett started modifying guitars at a young age, he started putting the features he needed in the package he wanted. Over many years he honed his skills in the fine woodworking and manufacturing industries, while at the same time playing gigs regularly. This gave him a unique combination of skills along with a passion for music and understanding of the active musicians needs. Every guitar is unique just as the artist has unique needs, for CVG there’s no room for “one size fits all” when it comes to a musicians requirements. We take all aspects into consideration from the tonal dynamics of different species of woods, how scale lengths affect the feel of a guitar, to the way electronics can color your sound. We know the ergonomics of a well-designed guitar can ease the strain of playing an all-night gig and have you not only ready, but enthusiastic to play the very next night. We believe all aspects of a guitar are important when you take your passion seriously, and we want to build to your needs.  When you’re ready to reach for more, reach for CVG.

BORN IN THE HEART OF OHIO

"The Challenger is a hip and inspiring mash-up of vintage influences. It positively drips with gorgeous cosmetic details. It’s comfy to play and it provides many attractive Gibson solidbody-style tones... I dig Challenger’s vintage-with-a-twist aesthetic, its classy handmade feel, and its bold, definitive tones."
